The project aims to counter the decrease in cattle population in Eastern Ghouta by providing cattle farmers with one cow each –along with a 3 month supply of fodder– and selling their milk product at an IHR-run center in the town of Misraba. This, in addition to regular veterinary care – a Vet Center open for consultations and awareness sessions open to the public. This ensures a sustainable source of income for the direct beneficiaries (31 selected farmers) all the while providing low-cost quality milk to the indirect beneficiaries (the residents of Misraba).
